looking for program that records your GH2 shooting settings???

If you forget to write down what your shooting settings were when you are filming with the GH2, is there any Apple program that lets you know what your shutter speed, Iris, ISO speed were at the time you were filming???

Th reason I ask is I notice that iPhoto does this with photos. Just clicking the info tab in iPhoto will give you all this information. Does something like this exist for AVCHD movies shot with GH2 or AF100???

I aks this because I always forget to write down what my settings were and then I have to guess.

Sorry for reposting this but my first title did not make sense.

That's because photos automatically keep a lot of that information in their metadata. Video on the other hand does not always do that. Some cameras will keep some of the info, but there is too much information to record such as changing focal lengths, changing shutter, aperture, ISO etc. All of that can be done in video, but in still photos, all of that remains the same. I would check Quicktime or Final Cut or Premiere. But I doubt you'll be able to find anything other than the bitrate, date shot, and a few other random bits of information.

Hey there, I found your post a couple days ago.

I have also been wanting to find a program that reads metadata OR the cpi file created by the camera.

So far, what I have found is there is no real program to read the cpi file (or at least a good one that does what we want)

I have found a program that supposedly reads the metadata off the mts file.

Someone please check out DVMP Pro 5

I cannot afford it, but hopefully someone here can chime in on it's use.

Hopefully in the future, someone can make a freeware version for us.

edit: or someone make a plug-in for cs5 ae / pp

I recently downloaded a utility from http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/finalcutstudio/minimemetadataexplorer.html. "mini Metadata Explorer (miniME) reveals the metadata about clips in your Final Cut Pro project that aren't shown in the Browser window. Depending on your camera's format the QuickTime metadata available might include: date, time, location, camera ID, reel ID, white balance temperature, saturation, memo... The demo version lets you view and export the QuickTime metadata columns to an Excel spreadsheet, while the paid version also lets you add the hidden metadata to visible logging fields inside your Final Cut Pro project."

Unfortunately, the program just won't launch on my Mac Pro machine. Maybe someone else can check it out.
