Looking for old SLR

Does anyone have an old, preferably not working (to keep the cost down) manual SLR film camera? I'm looking for one, preferably Nikon or Canon, that I can scavange the lens mount from the body to complete my DIY 35mm adapter.

Or does anyone know where I can get an Nikon or Canon lens body mount for relatively cheap?

Another reputable place to look is KEH Camera Brokers in Atlanta. You can check them out here .

Or try a camera repair place. Or Google for "nikkor mount" or whatever. (Pacific Rim Camera has 'em for $25 or so.)

I just went to my local camera shop and asked if that had an old body to sell for scrap. They had several and I got an old Nikon for $5.
