Looking for Mic Holder Adapter for DVX200

In some of the official product photos I noticed an extender between the shock mount and the head of the camera. I've been looking and couldn't find such an item explicitly for the DVX200. I took a gamble on a Panasonic VYC0890 Mic Holder Adapter for DVX100 hoping it would work.

It does the trick — extending the shock mount far enough away from the body to do two things: 1. give my Rycote Softie clearance to properly attach it to my MC700 shotgun, and 2. clear the deadcat from the camera's FOV. The VYC0890 accomplishes these items, however, the item is simply not designed for DVX200. As you can see in the following illustration, the one caveat is the adapter is not wide enough to accomodate the DVX200's mic holder screws.

This is an issue. I am aware of other Mic Holder Adapters floating around on eBay for the various cameras, but it'd be nice if someone knew which of them precisely fits the DVX200. Panasonic did it in their marketing photos, so it has to exist. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks very much.

I've used the Rode SM-5 for years on many different cameras for this exact purpose, but it works great with the DVX200. It's about $45 on Amazon. Adds a little weight to the camera but since my wind diffusion is exceptionally furry, it really helps.

I don't think it would be that difficult to make a small offset bracket that would allow you to take advantage of both mounting holes on the camera and then mount your Panasonic VYC0890 mic adapter to the other part of the bracket. You could probably find a small piece of metal stock to use at Lowes or Home Depot for a couple bucks and bend it in a vise. You could even mount it with the rubber washers between the bracket and the camera to cut down on any handling noise from being transferred from the camera out to the mic adapter. Here's a simple hand sketch of what I'm suggesting.

If you want something a little higher end and more versatile, this Rycote mount fits the DVX200 well and replaces the entire stock mic holder assembly with a better and more adjustable shock mount:

My only reservation about it is that there's no way to fit the camera in my rather tight Portabrace case with this installed, and screwing it on and off each time is an inconvenience (and risks dropping the screws in the grass). Might not be an issue for those with different cases.

I appreciate the feedback, fellas. I'm hoping for an OEM solution that befits my $1000 mic with a tiny rear that won't fit in a normal shock mount.
