looking for inexpensive external LCD monitor

I have been using a Sony DVD player model DVP-FX930.
It's got a 9" screen and is very portable with an RCA video input and battery - no power cables.
It allows me to see the full screen a lot bigger and with no data interference.
It's not all calibrated and all that like a $400 Marshall - it cost me about $175 and lo-and-behold... it doubles as a DVD player.
It has been very useful for getting a better look at my framing as it is "full-bleed" meaning it shows the full capture area better than the DVX's screen.
I also can take it to meetings and show work etc. on the DVD player.

Check out LCD4Video.com

I've got one of their 7" screens and it's a good size, quality is good enough and the price is good. Can run it off of a Panasonic battery.

Not too bulky and mounts with a standard thread.

Wow, 9" screen and the price is right! Looks kinda big with the DVD player base - how do you have it mounted? Can you post a pic of your rig?
