Long Island Production Company is looking for independent Camera Operators to build a business relationship with steady work.
What I mean independent is someone who can stand their own ground, operate camera, operate sound and dump footage without any problems. We need someone who can think out of the box, know simple tasks like White Balance, audio monitoring, etc. We had operators who can't focus, shot tungsten balance outdoors, shot interviews with NO audio, left the gain @ 18db, etc.. Are you that type of guy to do careless mistakes? If so, don't reply.. If not, read on...
We require you to have:
-at least 5 yrs experience on the field
-experience with multiple cameras (especially panasonic cameras)
-learn to listen for directions
-can multitask
-energetic, outgoing, and aggressive (No Snobby "union" attitudes please)
-Ideally live in Long Island or Queens (somewhere to travel around LI and NYC)
-and of course, have CREATIVITY!
-Lastly, MUST HAVE CAR!! VERY IMPORTANT! DON'T APPLY IF YOU HAVE NO CAR.. We always get people replying with no cars when we request one! I stress this PLEASE HAVE CAR!
1st Gig coming up:
There is a TV show season shoot at another state coming up next week... I need someone to be able to operate our Panasonic p2 ENG cameras (HPX300)
Your main duty:
-watch our equipments, make sure everything is intact and packed well.. (usually consists 2 cameras, 2 tripods, 2 light stands, 2 LED lights, 2 wireless lavs, wires and cables, 1 monitor)
-help light set, simple 2 point fill lighting
-there will be another camera op with you for 2nd camera, so you are the main camera with an audio lav connected to monitor audio while operating camera
-end of the day, dump P2 footage and make backup
There will be another operator who had been on these shoots to help assist on set.. but we need you to be able to think on top of your feet, listen to instructions, and be good at operating camera, monitor audio and dump footage at end of day.
Pay varies per job.. Mostly low budget productions. We know this is a lot to ask for, and there will be times where we won't require you to do everything listed above. So for those who believe the rates are too low to do these tasks and are incapable, please, need not apply..
But if you are that hungry, aggressive candidate we need, reply with resume, description of yourself and links to recent work. If you have equipments you can list that out as well.
Also, If you Edit on an AVID Media Composer HD system, then that would be more work on your end. Thanks
