GH2 Looking for feedback, 30 second welcome videos, and a few questions

I'm a noob. GH2 is my first "real" video camera. Here are two different ~30 second welcome videos for our church.

Wes' - http://vimeo.com/18768159
Aric's - http://vimeo.com/18768787

I'm looking for as much feedback as possible. They were put together fairly quickly, and I still don't have all my beginner gear that I'd like, but I'm running with what I've got.

I'm using a GH2, w/ a cheap lav + H1 body mounted, cheap tripod w/o a fluid head, and a Panny 20mm/1.7, FD 50/1.4, FD 35-105/3.5-4.5. In Aric's video at the end, I'm using some cheap shop lights to fill the face as it got dark before we could finish.

Feel free to criteque anything, as I'd love to know what I need to focus on. Recommendations for learning resources would be helpful too.

I do have a few questions though:

1) Script reading. I thought people could handle 15-20 seconds of talking... but they can't. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a teleprompter. In "Aric's" video, it's obvious he is reading from something (a laptop being held up right behind the camera). For pieces like this, what are some ways to not have that "I'm reading from the script" feel?

2) Color. My 13" MacBook Pro isn't handling the AVCHD files very well, and if I do much effect editing in Premiere, it's painfully slow to fiddle with, especially as I'm not quite sure what I'm doing. Would it be work picking up Magic Bullet Looks or Quick Looks to quickly set the color, rather than just keeping whatever is on the camera? I've adjusted the brightness and contrast a tad in each.

Thanks!

With Wes, I would have opened up the lens just a bit, to get all of his face and head.

Other than that, what I really noticed, you didn't pick out a Gregorian chant for background music, did you ??? :-)
