Looking for Comments on something im shooting with my dvx

i like it...on the first run through i though that opening shot was held a bit long...but on the 2nd run though i guess it was ok. colour looks nice also

just wondering if the softness is from compression...or did I do something wrong...or is this just how dvx footage is?

i'm sorry, im so used to seeing my own footage i can't really be critical about it

I't looks to me as though you seem to keep crossing the 'Line' with your action. They keep swapping places on the screen. Also watch out for the eyelines.

I usually hate this site but the little diagram about crossing the line is not a bad description: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/180_degree_rule

Performances are pretty good havib=ng said that.

This is only my opinion.

My first reaction was also shot length, crossing the line and the eyelines are definitely off. The eyeline issue is likely a byproduct of the fact that you likely shot from his seat toward her instead of from behind the bar or whatever it is that they're sitting at? Just a guess, but that is what it looks like.

Unless she is making eye contact with the lens, you should have stayed right along the line, which would have put you, at the absolute extreme, on his left shoulder for her CU and her right shoulder for his. Regardless of whether you see the shoulder in the foreground.
