F35: Looking For Codex, SR-R1 or SWR-1. Please help.

Big bummer on the 7Q. I have owned 3 over the last few years and nothing like this. CD even replaced glass crack that was clearly my fault for free. Can you keep the unit? Ebay the good parts. I’m surprised they couldn’t keep your lcd and just upgrade to 7Q+ inside. What do I know.

There is codex on ebay that is probably the most complete setup. It’s been up there at least 2 years, he is ready to make a deal.

The possibility of a cracked 7Q showing up for sale is possible also as you see CD is not really fixing the originals anymore. eBay has a search feature to alert you via email when keywords list. 7Q+ is a lot more popular now but you will see original 7Q’s sell sub $500. I know you don’t want to wait months to get a working rig but with a little time you could get 7Q way below that retail price.

You know I'm taking to the Codex guy right now. He has the hot dock but it's missing the transfer unit....do you think that price is worth it? I know the wet dock is very rare. You guys told me...but **** $2775!!! Would you?

Why not get a sub $500 422 recorder and start shooting?
Sounds like you have had a bad experience with convergent design however a used 7Q is always going to be cheaper than a codex, SRR1 because as you can see the media and readers become factor in cost.
Everyone kind of agrees you can’t see 10-bit vs 12-bit. 50p, not slow enough, use another camera for those shots.

Yo Yachacha I'm tethered right now to old and trusty Panasonic AJ-HPM200 are you familiar with it? It records 422 10 bit AVCIntra100 codec. https://library.creativecow.net/art...lmut&article_folder=panasonic-p2mobile&page=1

I am not sure what to setup the camera as right now I set up 444 12 bit, 24p, Ie450 and s.gamut. the recorder reads the signal fine and it records to the P2 card...i dont know what is going on though. I kind of noob to the recording scene. I'm computer animator and I render things and it stays in the pc. Im learning all this recording thing. My experience with recorders started with blackmagic raw and now this Sony F35 spiral of options. Of course I could just carry my Recorder on my back and shoot to p2 also i could do what you said shoot to shogun or samurai recorder but I thinking damn I bought the f35 to shoot 12 bit 444 . So ill play with the p2 recordings but if I will spend 500 bux I'd put it towards my permanent recorder.

Anyway any idea what settings I should put the camera on would slog even make a difference if I'm shooting to AVCintra100.

If you have time take read on creative cow link.

And Panasonic made a bracket so you could mount it on the back of a camera. You could get a dummy battery to d-tap and power your camera and this together. Maybe not as compact and light as an O7Q, but better than being tethered to a briefcase editor.

I'm passed with CD but I will buy one if I can. Yes. Do you have one?

Was just thinking about selling mine, looking to move to a PIX-E5 because I like the compactness/design and I shoot on an F3 now.

DM me and we can see if it will work out. I have a shoot coming up so trying to see if I can get a PIX-E5 in time if I were to sell.

if i get a Codex without a transfer station/dock, Is there a way to output what I recorded through sdi out ports to a capture card to just play around with the footages until i get a propper transfer station? Also Does it output to viewfinder(a monitor) as im recording a footage or does it output to the cameras viewfinder as i record? Thanks.

I personally would not buy a Codex without the transfer station at this point. You would need to be extremely lucky to find one separately and for any good price. I would rather not have the wet dock for the F35 than not have the transfer station.

I found a lot of srw-1 with the same error code they have mixed boards inside some only 102 but mostly with 102,103 boards.. they all have an error code around the line of:

ERROR: SY NVRAM 0003 SY-SV I/F 000D, SY PROC I/F 0103
Warnings: audio pll unlock, bad HD frame, audio dspp unlock

Now its about 6 units with the same error?
Anyone can tell what is going on? Is it because its missing board 101? Is it because its not docked properly? Any help?

I have the odyssey on the way but these will cost only 300 bucks each.
