I'm looking to see if anyone around here has any old mini dv cams just lying around they don't use anymore that can still be used as a functioning tape transport. I just bought a used dvx100a off of ebay, with about 26 hours on it. (pretty low for what i've found and searched...) and I dont know how the previous owner treated or took care of the camera.
I was looking for a tape transport now just because I'm afraid of rewinding/FF, and damaging the heads.
The camera doesnt have to work even to capture an image, but only to be detected and have a firewire out port, and maybe work for printing to tape, and that's it.
I don't really have much money left, so i was looking for something that someone was going to either throw away, or give away, but, maybe something under $100 if i'm lucky.
