Hi folks,
My first post here!
I have a DVX100 ('E' - Europeal PAL version of 'A' i think).
I will be shooting weddings primarily (events also eventually).
First job with this camera in 3 weeks.
My camera is standard; no booms, extra mics, socks etc.
What mic equipment works well with this camera (XLR inputs)?
I am told I should get some wireless mics.
- Do these plug into the XLR input and which input is best (1 or 2).
- Is input 1&2 actually left and right of stereo or 2 x stereo inputs?
-Do I wear a transducer pack or best to strap it at the tripod?
-What is a good thrifty product and where do I get it?
I saw someone elses DVX100 and it had a bracket out the handle side with a directional mic and sock on it. I did an outside wedding last year and the wind was a real pain.
- Is this worth getting also
How would the micing work if I had all of the above working together - or wont it work together.
- Do I get a mixed soundtrack from Input 1 and 2 in any mix of onboard and XLR inputs dependant on switches? So what I mean is ... can I use the the switches in any combination and source; sounddesk cable, wireless, directional mic and expect both inputs to mix onto the DV tape
- ... and will the NLE software (pinnacle 12) pick it all up as I see in Pinnacle only one audio track from the DV source.
Whew! I think thats a decent start. Lots of questions but generally you get the gist!
Look forward to hearing from you.
