How does that shot fit inot the narative?
what do you want to get across in that shot / scene?
What is important to the viewer?
What are the limitations in the footage?

Without context, if all are on the wall in a gallery, #1 would be most pleasing to my eye. Don't like top right flares in #2,3

its personal preference based on the look (contrast, saturation etc) that you decided on and designed for your piece.

however:

the trend nowadays is for the blacks to be "milky" and not be crushed (most ppl associate that with "film look" nowadays), so if you want to fit in with the vimeo crowd choose one of the middle ones.

Hey, thanks for the replies guys. I missed them before I actually completed my little test project .
Silyn, I got the same advice from another person, and so I decided to get rid of the flares and the lights and just kept things minimal.
