GH3 Looking for a Loupe for GH3?

I have a carryspeed VF-3 adapted to work with the GH3 via Quick release adapter. I can post up pictures when I get some time later. The only downside so far is that where the treads are on the QR plate don't line up centred if I wanted to use it on rails. Of course I rarely use a loupe on rails but I hate being limited. lol

CarrySpeed is supposed to be working on a GH3 version but I was impatient and couldn't wait.

To my understanding you need to modify that loupe to mount it like that?
I usually shoot on a rig and my screen is flipped out off set, so that's how I would like to use it
thanks

Yes I have a fat gecko QR between the Loupe and GH3. I used to have a varavon loupe with my GH2 that was for a swivel and used offset a lot. Lately I've actually enjoyed the inline Loupe for the type of shooting I've been doing.

For the $130 I spent on the CarrySpeed (already had QR) I just couldn't wait for a Loupe that supports the flipout. The varavon for the GH2 was solid.

The Varavon EX UNI gives you the possibility to use it both ways, in line or screen flipped out, you just need a simple flash bracket :

Solid construction, x3 magnification (you need a very good visual accuracy to have it 100% sharp, I can see it only 90-95% sharp with the diopter, which is enough but a x2,5 magnification, like the Zacuto, would have been better for me), good looking, reasonably priced, I'm really pleased with it.

Title says it all
thanks

Hoodman hoodloupe with a Manfrotto 501 plate, about $100, fits perfectly, works great, weighs nothing comes on and off easier than anything else.
We use two of them because of the size, weight and ease of attachment using our existing QR system.

To me, one of the primary strengths of the GH3 versus the other cameras we've traditionally used is the astonishingly small and light form factor.
I love anything that improves it while maintaining this big advantage.

My new favorite little things for the GH3s: Aviator CF jib, Fesiol CF sticks, Zuiko 12mm and 75mm, and maybe my favorite crash toy I shot with for the first time today, Olympus 12-50mm zoom.
I never thought I'd touch an MFT camera and now I'm almost completely addicted to the small form factor.

Interesting idea jimagine. Are you using Hoodman Cinema Straps to attach? Thanks for the scoop.

No, no Dan, that's the beauty of the 501 plate - the plate holds the loupe securely to the screen like glue and pops on and off with a simple little twist of the base screw.
We've had two of these setups flying around back country shoots for a few months and they work great.
I'm amazed that Hoodman isn;t promoting this.
I actually worked out the details with them when I first got the GH3s and had no VF options.
I had one of the first cameras and they couldn't get one to work with.
I had them send me a Loupe and a Hoodmag eyepiece and 5 minutes later I posted a picture of it here.

Gotta run to a meeting but it's below this thread somewhere - just search my posts.

Thanks for the detail jimagine. Very simple, elegant setup. I may give it a go...
