Hello, I am new to this forum but have recently been hired by a company that primarily shoots live events with an HVX 200 and an HPX 500. One of our primary frustrations is that some of our clients want us to record the live cutting that we do between cameras. While we can easily do this using tape decks and the like, we were hoping to invest in a digital solution. We were looking at the NewTek Tricaster line, but were hoping to get something a little more robust just in case the software were to bug out on the Tricaster during a live show. We were wondering if there is a switcher that exists that can easily switch between live camera feeds, dvd footage, and powerpoint presentations, while being able to record all of the switches, or at the very least the camera switches? If possible we were looking for something that is compatible with Final Cut Pro as well.
Again, I'm not sure if something like this exists as I am not too familiar with the world of switchers, but it would be very helpful to have. We can get the clients their footage much faster, and in a format that doesn't require them needing a tape deck of their own, and it could also save us a ton of time by not having to do Final Cut Pro Multicam edits. Any advice/ recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
