Looking for a good reseller....

A friend of mine needs to buy a HMC150 for the coming Friday. He would like to order it out of state (CA) so he can save the tax. Any idea where to get it from? BH and spec comm are out of stock....

I ordered mine from EVS on a Monday and had it in my hand on Wednesday (shipped to bay area CA). I know that they're in CA, but tax is only 3%... I think it has to do with indie filmmaker credit or something? If they have them in stock, that's a good way to go.

Amazon has them in stock now, if you're okay with going that route.

I don't think Amazon is an authorized reseller, soo you can't get the extra 2 year warranty! or the 16GB card =)

Gosh, I hope that isn't correct. I just received my HMC150 from Amazon 2 days ago. I just sent off for my 16GB SD Card but have yet to try and register the camera for the additional 2yr warranty. That would blow if I am screwed out of both of those. I will post again after I try to register the camera.

Bummed:(

I've read elsewhere on the board that Amazon purchases may or may not be authorized... depending on where they get that particular stock. I haven't heard anyone say that they didn't get their rebates, but I have heard people say they did.

Good to know, thanks for the info.

I went through the extended registration process last night and received an email that it can take up to 2 weeks to receive a confirmation email stating that I am eligible.

I had no idea when purchasing this camera last week from Amazon that it could in fact be denied the extended warranty and rebates. I don't think that's fair, Panasonic built the camera, they should warranty it and stand behind all rebates for HMC150 purchases within their given time frames.

I am eager to see what becomes of this and will update this post once I find out where Panasonic stands on this issue.

Just wanted to post an update as I purchased my camera from Amazon.

I did receive acknowledgement "Fulfillment" on the 16GB card rebate so I am golden there. :2vrolijk_08:

Still waiting to find out on the additional warranty but am thinking I will get it too.

I will post back after confirming.

JR.com really hosed me with a false promise on the rebate. They outright lied to me.

I bought two from Willoughbys.com and got a great deal. I should be getting 16gb card, etc. ANY DAY NOW since I ordered in JANUARY!

BOTH PANASONIC and JR.COM have some serious problems, but I *would* buy gear from Willoughbys again.

I went and drove (80 miles) to EVS in glendale today to buy a hmc-150.

Those guys are AWESOME.

I won't mention price because I don't know if thats how they roll, but with tax and all, I am VERY happy on price.

I got mine last week from Ryan at EVS, good company fast delivery, extra batteries were backordered though. Love the cam so far.

They don't any more; I just got the last one they had this morning. (It's my 2nd 150-no more problems matching footage!)

I bought mine from http://vidinc.net Very friendly. They called me to let me know that it shipped and gave me the tracking number. I even ordered a 16GB card from them after the fact just over the phone, and the entire transaction went smoothly. CC charged properly, and all was great. I'd recommend them!

Amazon purchase - good for rebate & 3yr warranty

Amazon purchase - good for rebate & 3yr warranty

Hi All,

Just a quick update from an earlier post where it was mentioned if you purchased the HMC150 from Amazon, you were not eligible for the rebate or the extended 3yr warranty.

I purchased my HMC150 from Amazon on 5/28 and have been hoping the above to not be the case.

Last week I received notification that my purchase had been accepted for the 3yr warranty so that just left the rebate in question.

Today my question was answered when I received my 16gb SDHC card rebate in the mail.

So long story short, HMC150 Amazon purchases are valid for the rebate/warranty. Hope this helps others thinking about purchasing from Amazon.

Peace,
Hizzo

Hizzo,

Thanks for the good report. I think (and someone mentioned this earlier) some people have problems getting rebates from Amazon orders because you need to check and see which merchant you are buying from on Amazon. Perhaps the merchant changes from time to time. Anyway, if that merchant is an authorized dealer, then it would seem rebates go through just fine.

TigerFX is correct, please be careful whom you purchase the HMC150 from because Panasonic will not honor the end user promos if the camcorder is bought from a non-authorized dealer...I am not sure if Amazon the company is an authorized dealer itself....you can always check with Panasonic or we can check for you with our contacts...
