Looking for a Camcorder

I film skateboarding with a canon t3i, but im used to filming with a sony vx1000. I do like the t3i for fisheye shots but i need a secondary camera that can servo zoom (seeing how this isnt possible with DSLR's). I am on a budget so i just want to know what kind of camcorder will give me similar quality to a t3i and best bang for my buck. Thanks

If you're used to the workflow of miniDV the Canon XH-A1 would be a great fit for you. They are super reliable, relatively compact and light and best of all: cheap.

While the VX1000 is a staple in the skateboarding community, you'll want to avoid most Sony HDV cameras as they won't tolerate the abuse very well. You might see cheap FX1's, Z1U's, V1U's, etc but they all suffer from a myriad of tape transport and lens issues. We have customers that use them for skating but I cringe when I find out.
