I was on the hunt for a 24-70 fast zoom lens for my GH3. After a fair bit of research, I decided to go with the Tokina 28-70 f/2.6-2.8 ATX-Pro II. After doing some tests, I'm rather disappointed with the degree of softness with the lens wide open, especially at 70mm compared to my other lenses. So I've decided to sell it and get something else.
I already have a bunch of fast manual primes, a tamron 17-50 and a tamron 70-200 from when I use to shoot with Canon DSLRs. The tamrons work great, however I'm not happy being stuck at 2.8 when using them on my GH3. I'm currently using a cheap adapter with manual aperture control but it's junk for the most part due to the shift in colour and contrast, not to mention the vignetting. I need the convenience and full control of a zoom when shooting run and gun.
I'm currently considering the lumix 35-100 but it's rather pricey and I'd prefer to get something that's 1) non m4/3 native and 2) fully manual and available in nikon mount. 35mm is also a bit long for my run and gun shooting preferences.
Any recomendations?
