Look of Napoleon dynamite

Re: Look of Napoleon dynamite

Saw this movie last night... worst choice I've made in a while...

yeah.. this is the best movie ever. i dont know why though. visually its not that great. and the story is not that great.. but everytime i watch it i feel all happy at the end when napoleon finally gets someone to play tether ball with. i almost got teared up. call me gay but...they did a good job with this movie.. to heck with all the haters.

i found another funny thing.. right when the cow is gonna be shot, the bus pulls up and you can see the camera crew in the bus door reflection.

this movie has inspired me to pursue film making.

I agree this movie has a lot of hidden suprises in it. I would like to see a making of this movie.

I showed this movie on a projector at work and I think everyone loved it. Even though some were dumb founded by the whole thing, I really think they loved it. Hell they couldn't stop talking about it.

I find myself qouting the movie often.

Yeah, this school has a lot of gangs. This one gang kept wanting me to join cause I'm good with a bowstaff......

...don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

Worst Choice......Aw...come'on Shaw.......now Madonna's not gonna' come on tha' show. More like the best *Flippin'* movie of 2004. No Academy nod.....Blasphemy!! I give it two snaps up with a *HAARUMPHH* to boot!! ~reservoir~

so reason when I look for a movie to laugh at. I get this one out.

lol dunno why.

The movie was cute but nothing more. I have no idea why people enjoyed it so much; I've seen dozens of movies with similarly quirky characters except that they also had stories and interesting/worthwhile themes.

There's obviously something to it, since a lot of my friends love the movie, but I honestly can't see the appeal. It's competent on a number of levels, and it had a few gags which made me smile, but I can think of very few comedies which I can't say the same thing or something better about. The lead performance, if nothing else, was very, very good though.

As for the "look" of it....it's just the very basics of high key three point lighting. I saw nothing unusual about it, though for such a cheaply made movie it was well exposed and had decent production values.

Napolean Dynamite was one of the best movie yet. You have to have a sense of humor to enjoy this kind of flic. I would love to 'emulate' that movie and make the money they did.

well i still dunno how they got the school for the movie i tired that and principals are just not up to it

I walked away not knowing If I liked it or not, but after I went back to watch it again, I loved it. The set design was great! It was hard to tell at times what time period the movie was supposed to be set in, and I love that!

yea you never know it goes from 80's and 90's then again i heard that part of america is kinda in a weird state of era.

What makes this movie funny for me and a lot of people is that I know people just like that in my hometown and highschool. They got everything in that movie to a "T" The writing was very well done. As for the look, though it wasn't "something outstanding" it was an apropriate feel for the town it took place in. Washed out like a fading photograph. It's a rural town so fads and styles don't change as fast as more populated areas. Ergo, the actual year setting in the movie may have seemed a little vauge, but that's what it's like in small towns. I grew up in the south and I had a Nepolean Dynamite at my school, so when I saw this movie, I was laughing histericly wondering how they knew all this stuff about "my" small town. lol

I totally think that people from small towns that move to bigger cities love this movie more than other. If you've never experience Highschool in a small town with a Napolean, then you simply might not get it. :)

I think that was my problem, I grew up in Chicago and when I moved to Connecticut it was still a pretty urban/suburban area. I knew some strange cats, but never like that...

What really blows my mind is People saying that it's an accurate representation of how they grew up.... I mean, wow... Sorry....

Life in the red states, verrrrrrrrry different....
