It's the 2nd time i shoot a very long clip with my AF-100 (almost 2hours) and i notice that in the log and transfer window, when i scan the media it looks corrupted, green frames appear, FCP7 is not responding, etc...

I did not lost the media but i was wondering if i change the SD card (i use Transcend SD HC class 10) for a better one i will get more stable media ? do you have a specefic model ?

Des anyone have this kind of issue or opinion ?

thanks a lot !

You did not lose the media yet you say its corrupted.

How so? ie what were the green frames doing?

thanks for your answers !
About FCP 7, yes you're right, i remember trying FCP X couple months ago to convert the media in ProRes and it worked better (more stable)... fcp 7 is getting old !

Actually i did not lose the media this time even if green frames appear during the scan in Log & Transfer window... ouf !
I also seperate the long clips in 3 parts (in & out) to make sure fcp7 stay on because when there is a very long clip... fcp quit unexpectedly !

But the first time i did a very long clip yes i lost big chunk of the media, seems to me that the af-100 is having trouble dealing with a LONG single clip ?? maybe !

Does the SD card have something to do wiht this issue you think ?

It sounds like FCP7 to be honest, try 5D2RGB or FCPX to ingest the footage, in FCPX they just get re wrapped and not transcoded if you choose not to optimise.

Yeah, unfortunately, FCP7 really is getting long in the tooth. I finally bought the production suite of CS6 a couple of months back and it has been VERY pleasant to work with.

Forgot to ask, does the file/clip play back ok in the camera?

The problem lies with FCP7, you haven't lost any footage or that is anything wrong with your card, it is just purely FC7 ageing and no more updates. I had initially the same results as you, do not attempt to scroll on the capture window (it will freeze FCP) just LOG and Transfer the footage first and then review it - a good practice is also back up ALL folders inside your (locked) card into another hard drive before FCP 7 capturing.

FC7 OLD OR NOT still a great editing system, and yes there is no editing system that is perfect. If ain't broken don't fix it!!
