Need to sale my LOMO Squarefront Anamorphic 80mm f/2.5 (35BAS4-16-01) in PL mount. The lens is in good condition, only some wears on the body and there are some little light scratches on the rear glass only visible to direct light. Focus and aperture rings are smooth. There is a bit noise on focus ring.

Asking $3500 shipped via FedEx.

Hello au8ust, I've also seen the lens via eBay. I've been tossing up between your one and the other listed by 'leica-ur', Lomo zoom with an Arri sticker on it. How do they compare?

The Lomo zoom 20-120 (OPF-18) is a rear anamorphic. It will not create ovalur bokeh or horizontal lens flares.

In the pre digital days, when shooting was all film, zoom lenses were modified with rear adapters in order to provide anamorphic zooms. But rear adapters make you loose at least a stop (if not more).

The 80mm Sqaurefront will flare, have that antique look, give horizontal blue flares and have oval bokeh as the anamorphic elements that create the X2 squeeze are at the front of the lens.

The Zoom in spherical is 20-120 and in 'rear' anamorphic mode it's 40-240 (but looses that stop at least), it's rear anamorphic adapter creates the X2 squeeze 'last', hence no 'anamorphic abberations'.

It's interesting to note that these rear adapters used to be more popular for DP's as they gave the anamorphic format but didn't have problems with mumps etc.

Hope that helps.
