I´m still not fully sure if I want to sell this lens but I don´t want to think too much about this. The reason for selling it is simple: I don´t use it, so it´s a pity that this thing is just getting dust.
Here you go: 50mm lomo anamorphic square front T2.5 with PL mount. Price $2195.
I bought this lens a few months ago and I spent quite some money on it. It was fully serviced at Focus Optics in Burbank (I can show a copy of the invoice). It includes front and rear caps.
It's in extremely great condition. You won´t find a better lens than this. You might be able to find cheaper lenses on ebay or Russia... but they most certainly will require service and might not even be in PL mount. So in the long run, you´ll end up paying at least as much if not more.
An anamorphic lens that is not properly calibrated won´t be able to focus at all. A missaligned front element will also skew your images (I get to see this around the web all the time). That´s why it´s really important to have your anamorphic lenses in perfect condition at all times.
I´ve tested this lens in charts against roundfront lomos and crystal express anamorphics, and it´s up to any of those with no compromises except that the squarefront is way lighter and much more compact.
Rings are supersmooth. Glass is in amazing condition. If you are in LA area, fill free to come and test it.
I also have a 35mm anamorphic lomo square front but that one is in bad condition so it´s only worth it as an attachment in front of your spherical lens of choice. Still not bad for super low budget productions and would sell it cheap.
I´m open to trade also, but please, only pro grear offers.
