I figured I would give the ebay thing a try!-

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300341295728#ht_1011wt_1167

Up for grabs is a Lomo 35mm f2 (T2.9) Anamorhpic (2x) in stainless steel PL mount (with arri focus pitch gears). The lens in in excellent condition especially compared to previous squarefront anamorphic lenses I have owned. I am selling because I would like the money and have a set of roundfront anamorphics that work pretty hard ( and even though I like the 35mm squarefront better than the 35mm roundfront I have as this lens is about 3x lighter and has less distortion!)

Slap this on your Red or GH1 (via hotrodcamera's Pl mount adapter) and get your flare on!- This lens exibits classic anamorphic flare and the look that makes it look like you spend 2x the money on your project (hence the 2x horizontal anamorphic compression:happy:)

Anyways, The bidding starts out at $99.00, which is about 20x less than I paid for it, if you have any questions please ask!

Thanks,

-Hunter

I love this lens. I could not imagine selling a Lomo 35mm f2 Anamorhpic Lens. I'd give my right arm for that lens.

Thanks for the comment! The only reason I am selling is beause I already have an anamorphic lens in this focal length- if I didnt you can bet your right arm that I would not be selling it!

P.s. I have been getting a few questions about shipping to other countries, I have absolutely no issues with that at all, just be aware that shipping costs would have to be adjusted depending on where you are located/

so does it stretch out the image? Does it distort it in a bad way.

All anamorphic lenses compress the image- this one compresses the image 2x horizontally which is the anamorphic standard for 4-perf 35mm motion picture film (the stretching out to 2.4:1 happens in post or during projection).

The anamorphic elements that squeeze the image down are what gives them their unique look (strong horizontal flares & "blue streaks", oval bokeh, ect...) Its tough to simulate the anamorphic look in post and its been my expeirence that when someone see's some of these artifacts in your film, it looks more expensive. (see the latest Startrek to see lots of anamorphic artifacts in action)
