so I m shooting a bit of stock.

if 12345.mov contains a mouse
and 132345.mov contains a banana

but they are all shot on 23072023-adayin the park

how could I quickly find that I have a shot of a mouse?

how can I log this.

im pretty happy with sheets/exxel but Id prefer to ass the description in resolve and export a text list

thoughts?

Hmmm.. im not sure I get it.

Text is most important, but getting to that clip fast would be handy.

My text might be 'banana' and I might have two shoots..
-breakfast with the family (shoot 234)
-at the fruit market (shoot 519)

So if a client want a shot of a banana I can quickly see to check..
234/1234.mov
519/6667.mov

It seems resolve has something but im not sure if it is inside a project or across 'the database' or if it can be exported. Say to XLS.

there is some clue here..

of course an AI bot running through my rushes might be the thing

Not sure about that, an AI bot, but I did find this. Once I got my head around the fact that certain menu items are in slightly different places in Resolve 18.5 Beta as to v17, as demonstrated in this video. I managed to add markers, blue ones, to a timeline at certain points along a camera reel and enter notes and comments to those markers. Then by selecting only Blue Markers and then by selecting Export Edit Index in the Edit Index dialogue box, under the three dots, I was able to export an Edit Index CSV file. A CSV that had source in and out codes with a duration of one frame per marker along with my descriptions. As this video demonstrates, the CSV will have a bunch of empty rows and cells. Just delete them as demonstrated. Now you have a quick search way of finding the shots you want. I learned something new today, as I haven't needed this capability since moving over to Resolve. Thanks for bringing up the topic!
