Was the card write protected before you mounted it?

What version of FCP?

Which computer and RAM?

Have other cards worked previously?

Can you play back the clip in the camera?

have you repaired the clip in the camera if it has issues?

Help us out

Yeah sorry about that. Just a mild panic on the first post, lol

No its isn't write protected.

I'm using FCP 6.0.6

Its the only card I've ever used.

The clip plays back both in camera and in the P2 software.

When I transfer it does say clipname(SPANNED) I've never seen that before that I can remember.

If it says SPANNED, I believe that means the clip was shot at the end of one full card and split (spanned) over to a second card. Did you have a second P2 card in-camera when you shot, and is it in the camera now??

Also, it's probably wise to go ahead and write-protect your P2 cards before you mount them.

Hmm, no I don't have two cards. I'm bringing the clips in straight from camera....Only thing I could think of...would the card automatically break the main clip up in to subclips...and if that's the case maybe they aren't transferring in proper order? I can get the clip in .mxf form on my comp, I can't get them into FCP.

Thanks!

BUCK,

I would try Repairing the clip in the camera. Load footage back onto your P2 card. Its in the printed manual.
