Log and transfer on new Mac Book Pro?

I did a search on this but couldn't seem to find my issue... Apologies in advance if this info already exists...

I have FCP 6.0.6 on my iMac, but when I loaded it up on my new Mac Book Pro (using the same discs), it shows as version 6.0, and I'm having trouble with log and transfer... I noticed on my iMac, when I click on the little button that looks like a gear in the log and transfer window (where you tell it to remove advance pulldown and duplicate frames), on my iMac it gives me the option to transcode to ProRes 422, but not on my Mac Book Pro. Furthermore, when I tell it to add footage to the que, it looks like it's ingesting the footage, but then it stops prematurely and shows me a little red stop sign looking thing that when I hover over it with the mouse, says "no data".

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

DUH!

There was a plethora of updates I needed which were right on the Apple website. I didn't even remember installing them on my iMac...

Genius!

Ah HA!

That makes total sense... Those sneaky auto updates! Of course, you'd think by now I'd remember that pretty much any time you put a new computer in service it almost ALWAYS requires updates to get everything current. Lol, it's just unfortunate how my knee-jerk reaction is to come here and whine instead of just umm, I don't know... Maybe going to THE APPLE WEBSITE FIRST and doing a little reading???

Nah... That would make too much sense...
