Is it possible to log and transfer lower res versions of HMC150 footage for editing in FCP?
Then can the FCP project file be sent to me for final rendering using the high res versions of the same footage on another computer?
I will be on long-term temporary assignment in another city and I want to send my editor files that I have shot on my HMC150. I need to do the log and transfer myself on my macbook pro (FCP6.0.5, eSATA 2T, 7200 HD). I can L&T footage successfully on my system but the resulting ProRes files are too large to FTP or even put on DL DVDs. I need to send files to my editor for her to edit the footage on her own system, then send back to me for final editing and rendering. Can I send her lo-res footage files for her editing, then she send me the project file back and I "simply" use the corresponding higher-res footage on my system?
How do I create lower-res versions of the ProRes footage?
Is there a better method than described to accomplish this?
thanks,
