Log and Transfer issue

Hey guys, Ive got a log and transfer issue and im hoping its just something simple im doing wrong.

Im currently using a hmc150, i capture my footage, upload it onto my harddrive (private file), open FCP, open log and transfer and then import my footage. Everything upto this point is fine. I can view all my footage no problems at all.
My problem is this, when i go to add the clip into the queue, the footage wont transfer and it comes up with a exclamation on a red background in the status box. When i hover my mouse over the exclamation mark it says either 'error - unknown' or 'error - no data'.

Does anyone know what i may have done wrong?
This is the first time its happened so i guess i may have changed a setting but for the life of me i cannot remember.

Some specifics about your computer, OS, and FCP version numbers is necessary.

We can't see these things or your workflow from here.
 
I have macbook pro
Osx 10.5.8
2.53GHz
4 gig ram
and im using FCP 7.0

Have you installed any software, plug ins, filters, or updates lately?

Colorista for example, or anything else?
 
No, no updates for a while.
Do you think it maybe worth while uninstalling then re installing FCP?
 
Hi,

I have a thread literally posted hours before yours with the same subject. I have AVCHD footage shot with an Canon HF10 that had clips in it that became corrupted somehow. What I had to do was watch the really long segment (30mins) and figure out where the error or pixelation was and make note of it on the timecode. These little hiccups were causing FCP's Log and Transfer function to give me a 'Stream Error' which was causing the entire clip not to be transcoded. I know you received a little different error message but your footage may be corrupted as mine is. Try downloading the trial version of VoltaicHD for mac and see if it can recognize your MTS files.

Also make sure you haven't changed or modified the folder structure at all.
 
I kust uninstalled then reinstalled the program and its working fine again.
Im not too sure what the problem was.
