Log and Transfer freezes up

Every time I try to "Log and Transfer" my card (Extreme 16G 60MB) in my iMac it will transfer a few clips but then it will Freeze in the middle of the last clip.


Here is my workload:


iMac 10.5.7

2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Leopard
4GB of RAM

External RAID (2.0TB Newer Technology Guardian MAXimus RAID-1) fire wire 800

SanDisk SDDR-92 card reader


If this is a card reader issue what card reader do you recommend?

In this case I'm not using a camcorder. I'm using a flash card from the Canon Mark II. The log and transfer setting I'm using is Canon's plugin made specially for FCP (EOS Movie Plugin - E1).

The Final Cut version is 6.06
