log and capture question

I filmed my first short on the dvx100b that I borrowed for a day. Can I log and capture the footage using the canon hv20 and the same tape, or would the outcome come out differently?
 
u can capture any type of footage shot on a dvx on another camera because the pulldown markers are on the tape. a lot of people reccommend that you use another camera in order to save the heads on the dvx, which is what i do.
 
The HV20 is an HD camera. The DVX100B is an SD camera. Their codecs are different. From what I've been told, you need another SD camera to use for capturing.
