GH4 Lockport HDMI Protector

Yes i have one and love it. At the time i thought it was expensive as well, but i was looking for a better solution. I have a wooden camera cage rig and it replaced the wooden camera version. much better in my opinion. rock solid. never comes off my camera now.

only negative is you can't swing out the lcd screen very far when it's on your camera. That isn't an issue for me because i always operate with the LCD screen facing me in the folded-back position.

highly recommend it.

That's great news masnart! I also have the Wooden Camera Cage for my GH4 and was wondering if it could work with it because I was not happy with wooden camera's solution.
Glad to hear it works well. I also do the same with the LCD screen. Thanks for the recommend, will be ordering shortly.
BTW, do you have the version with the locking knob, and what exactly does that do?

mm,
they didn't have that version when i purchased both of mine. i really like that the lockport gives you a full-size HDMI connector that makes connecting/disconnecting very easy and secure.

I've been thinking about getting another one just to have a spare. perhaps i'll consider the version with the knob. my only thought is the knob is another element that can get loose rather easily. allen screws rarely get loose. i do a lot of video work, i want to do all i can to protect that flimsy little internal connector in the cameras. hope it works out for you.

Bern, Thanks for the suggestion but I tried the small rig version and I just wasn't happy with how the clamp held the cable or adapter. It seemed like it could torque the micro port on the camera if not really being careful with it.

Thanks mansard, I emailed Lockcircle and the version with the knob can be used without the knob like in the original so I'm giving that one a try.
