Lock Focus?

How do I lock the focus on the HMC150? It seems if I set it manually it re focuses buy itself. Also if I wanted to make the foreground sharp then the background sharp in one continuous motion within a 1-2 second time frame how would I go about that?

I believe you can set the focus M then switch over the ring to iris mode... Used for a 35mm adapter usually.

Do you have AF enabled? If so you can't lock focus and you can't rack focus - which was what your second question was hinting at.

You need to turn AF OFF then use the focus wheel to manually adjust the focus as required.

But if I bump the wheel it goes out of focus. Is there a way to actually lock it on the focus I manually set it too?

I don't think that exists on any camera. Move the focus ring, whatever form it takes, and the focus changes.

The solution is - do not bump the ring.
