Location Shoot with 25-100 C-MOUNT lens and GH2

Greetings,

I just bought a minty Canon 25-100 F 1.8 Zoom lens from a great guy here on DVXUser and today was my first official day of shooting some camera tests at my church. I specificially bought this lens for this kind of shooting.. When I have ample space to zoom and cover an event, like a concert, or a surfing thing, or especially some car racing..

This was all shot with the GH2. The first half is all normal lens and the 2nd half, which is listed with text, was shot with the teleconverter on. This adds a really dreamy kind of blown out quality that I really like. The normal lens stuff has a vignette but I really kind of like that. Overall, a solid purchase and maybe a bit of a toy lens but at this price... hey, all's good.

I was also able to shoot most of this at 720 60p with a 100 shutter and maybe 800 iso or there abouts. I could NEVER get that with my 14-140 for sure... I really like what this lens options up and I wanted to share as I know a lot of people are interested in these C-mount lenses. The adapter was easy to use and I didn't have to adjust or grind or modify anything... It is a heavy lens for sure so I'm going to have to figure out the best way to shoot it...

But enjoy and feel free to ask questions... Not really anything out of the ordinary but that's why I wanted to share.. this is a real world situation shot with a new camera and a lens that's probably 40 years old...

Cheers

I have the same lens. Very good for what it is but freaking heavy right? I always think my c-mount adapter is going to snap off without using some kind of rod support.
Does yours have any issues focusing to infinity at wider angles?

It's really good for what it is. Yes it's very heavy and I've thought the same thing but I think these mounts are designed to carry some weight... or atleast a bit considering how heavy the 14-140 is. Getting some lens support would be an ideal choice, especially if we are doing handheld....

I don't think that the infity focus is off on mine, but I haven't done enough testing to figure it all out yet. I do know that sometimes it does loose focus when you zoom out and such, but i'll take that as a compromise...

I'll shoot some more this week and check on the infinity focus... I really do love the lens, especially for the price.
