I need big favor from west coast HVX shooter. I know this is a stretch, but it doesn't hurt to ask:
First off: there's no budget, so I can't offer $$, but I am willing to trade efforts, i.e. you shoot for me at Northridge, and if you need footage from the Northern NJ/suburban NY area, I'm willing to shoot similar footage for you. (Of course, you'd be listed in credits).
I'd love to get some footage of a college competition being held at UC's Northridge campus this weekend. Been shooting a doc of this competition while following one school's efforts to reach the National competition. They made it, but I can't afford air fare & lodging to join them at Nationals. Everything thus far has been shot in DVCPRO50. The best I can send with the school's team is a JVC handycam with mini-DV.
Note: this is NOT a sporting event. It COULD provide opportunities for you to meet reps from several colleges/universities (upwards of 40 will attend), as well as some large companies involved in engineering and construction. Marketing yourself will be up to you.
The biggest part of the competition will be Saturday, indoors, followed by a banquet where winners will be announced. I'd love to have footage of the Team's performance during the competition (their effort should take less than 10 mins), and footage of their reaction as winners are announced. Be aware that there could be hours of time between their competition performance and the banguet.
If interested, and willing to trade efforts, email me at x002657@comcast.net for details.
Thanks.
