Went to a “best of” film festival showing last night. I did scut work on a film that didn’t make it, but it did raise my curiosity about the local indie scene.
The one thing in common in just about every one of the twelve films viewed last night was that the highlights were blown out. Some far worse then others but all were unacceptable to my eyes. All except a stop-animation film that actually looked pretty good.
They were shown at a popular indie theater downtown that is one of the hip hangouts for the artsy crowd. So I’m wondering- is it something to do with the projection on the big screen or is it just the indie scene people like to blow out the highlights?
