Local 24 short film fest

Hey guys, I just wanted to post our team's short film. I've never shot a short film before, but I've always wanted too! I'm sick of doing commercial work and wedding crap. So here it is. The theme was: Time . We had 3 props: water, food, picture. We had some lines too but I'm to tired to even remember them. I was supposed to be the editor only, but I ended up being the camera operator/dp and Editor. I really loved setting up the angles/lights to get the mood. Give me you input about my editing and dp'ing. Got that first short film done, now the second will be easier!

hehe that was a fun little short.

I liked, on the most part, your composition. I would have added a bit more lighting, perhaps a hair line light or backlight just to seperate your actress from the background a little more. Although it was a very smal and simple story, even for its length it didnt feel like it was dragging. I liked the sound effects you used too.

I would have lit it much more than you have done and tweaked it in post to make it more of a night time feel. Although that is a subjective look. I prefer the blue night look as opposed to the less lit picture.

This way you can implement 3 point lighting whiel maintaining a night time feel but with your subject properly lit.
 
I just saw the beginning and I really liked what little I saw. I'll wait for the QT version since wmv always stops buffering on me and I only get to see what it feels like letting me see.

Looking forward to finishing this.
