Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

"does this guy look familier?"

yes, thats tom savini!

trailer looks great man! seriously, there have been a ton of film trailers posted on this site and dvinfo.net that i have seen. this is the only film that i actualy would want to watch.

im almost 100% sure thats savini...givin all the gore thats in the film as well....actor/sfx guy?

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

Looks like a very sick movie, :-X

Great effects with the squibs and bullet hits. How did you do all the effects? ;D

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

your movie looks good. a writer + violence = :)

but the trailer violates rule 2 of my fundamental rules of moviemaking (well, more a personal pet peeve)

2. you shall not have a 10 minute trailer that shows every good part/funny moment/plot twist in the whole movie. (i, robot anyone?) does no one remember the matrix? the only thing you got to see was ...what is the matrix? that's it, not even a screen shot. tell me why i should go see it, not show me the whole thing.

see post in film discussion:

http://www.dvxuser.com/cgi-bin/DVX2/YaBB.pl?board=movies;action=display;num=1091265502

its waaaaaay to long and shows waaaaay to much of the plot. i know exactly what will happen in the whole movie.

the killer at confession, the writer in the bar, and the expose of the killer on the comp plus a scene or 2 of someone dying is all that would be necessary to make a good, short, to the point trailer that would really entice me to want to see the whole movie.

btw, i really like the guy next to the lava lamp. a little bounce card on the c.u. would have helped though, but nice.

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

I normally stray from violent movies, but this actually caught my attention. Nice job.

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

I believe I saw this trailer, or an earlier version, at Savini's forum at this year's Dragon Con. I don't think Matt Green was there, though the film looks like a lot of fun. Savini had some good things to say about it.

Good work.

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

Hi guys,
Thanks for all the feedback. I'm going to Atlanta this weekend to do the final mix on the sound, I'm very happy with the way its turning out.

Yes that is Savini. this is our third feature film together and it was a blast to make.

As for israeihoudinis coments, you shall not have a 10 minute trailer that shows every good part/funny moment/plot twist in the whole movie.[/color.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I assure you that the trailer doesnt even hint at the full plot. I gave nothing away as the scene with the preist is the first scene in the film. Savinis character is only a small part of the whole film. And the trailer is only 2.5 min. long.

We are having the premiere at the loews waterfront theater in Pittsburgh on Oct 19th if any of you are near to Pittsburgh
let me know And I will set you up with tickets.

does anyone know why it has that strange squeel at the opening? I used sorenson squeez to compress it and there must be some kind of seeting that I'm not taking care of.

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

Matt,

It was a good trailer, better than what I have seen here which fall in the other side of the spectrum, not saying SQUAT, or just a bunch of random clips here and there. Your trailer captured my attention. I am not from the area but if this feauture was shot on the DVX100 and future plans are to release it on DVD I am interested! As for israeihoudini's comments and opinions... they are just that... People will find something to correct or say about everything. I bet they would have butchered Michael Angelo's David if it was a modern piece of art. Good job and good luck!

Cheers!

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

excellent stuff!! Although nuns and priests being bathed in a shower of bullets aint gonna get you a private screening at the vatacan! ;)

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

I assure you, That is the scene everyone will remember.

After the premiere I expect to have it on the video shelves by January.

Thanks for the feedback.

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

I would just make the trailer tighter. Things just seem smarter when they are as concise as possible.

For DVX100 footage, it definitely looks good, I bet it'll look pretty good on DVD.

Good luck with distribution.

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

Who cares! Movies, Shorts, trailers, pictures, grabs are like art or paintings, you just do it the way you want it and that's it. If you like it you buy and if you don't you pass. Look at George Lucas and his new shitty trilogy and the bastard keeps making money! There is no rules in this business, you have an opportunity to express yourself they way you see the world and the way your feel about it, thats how style is born... no rules just art expressions!!! And please don't take this post in a harsh or wrong way, just like to see people here posting their stuff and feel good about their work no matter if their movie is 3 mins long and the associated "trailer" is 2:59.59 ! ! !

;)

Cheers!

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

Hey Matt - whats the deal on those cool lookin' explosions - what software did you you use ?

Looks fantastic by the way - top notch mate!

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

Looks good but the trailer is two minutes to long. I would have been blown away and excited if you teased me with less. I think people just get excited to show there work, which is a good thing but in retrospect some of the most thrilling trailers were short and to the point and left me wanting more.

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

when have you ever seen a trailer that was 30 seconds in length?

you cant sell it if a potential distributor doesnt see at least 2.5-4 min. of footage.

the explosion was done in photoshop 7

Re: "LOADED DICE" movie trailer

Your trailer looks awesome! Great special effects and camera work. Story looks good too. I'd love to attend the screening, how much are tickets?
