Load virgin GH1__1.32 each time?

I know I'll be awarded Stoopidest Question of the Day for this, but...

Do you always have to load an untouched Panasonic firmware version (in this case 1.32) into Ptools with each new try at new settings?

When I try to load my last patched firmware (named "GH1__1.32.bin", I just overwrote the original panasonic file on my first try at this) into Ptools 3.36 it gives me the error message:

"Wrong file or already patched"

Is that normal?

I have a stupid question.

I went from 1.1 or something right to the hack.

Should I have upgraded my body with the the panasonic 1.32 first, and then went to the hack firmware, or does it not matter?

I assume it doesn't matter, as the hack is using the panasonic 1.32.

yes. re-download the original and this time don't write over it =)

OK thank you!

I couldn't find anything in the Ptool info that explicitly said "always start from the original Panasonic firmware" and I must be one of the few people who didn't pick up on that, because no-one else seems to be running into that.

I'm daft that's all there is to it.

No worries. i find the whole ptools to be quite logical and straight forward (thanks to tester) if you actually take the time to read the descriptions and be observant of changes in codes from original when you input values. it's sometimes alot faster to figure out that way than jumping into it and waiting for replys in a thread..lol.

be sure to read up more on it though, even though there is so many pages now days, you will understand and get more out of the patch.
