Living Messy

Well, maybe it's from experience. It seems absurdly obvious to me. Everything is too well placed.

I've lived in an untold number of shi* holes, blood everywhere,on the walls, in the toilet, piss and shi* all over. Needles everywhere, in the sink, in the toilet. Burn holes everywhere, waking up to put out a fire in a chair cause some girl dropped her smoke and fell asleep. I lift the cover and there are 40 burn holes under it.

So when I see this, it's fake. It's too organized to be a mess. If I could take a shot of my ex room mates place, a life long heroin attic, you would get a better idea.

I'm just saying, it's BS. I've lived it, I know it.
I disagree a little. I'm no young pup and I've seen people who live like this. Not junkies, just people who can't throw stuff out. It's an illness. Now I'm not saying that this is legit, I'm just saying that it could easily be so.

It's not just junkies who live in a disaster area. There are people who may seem to lead normal lives that go home to something like this.

You might be surprised.

Um guys this is real life footage from an alternate reality where Jack does not have Megan to make him sane and normal...

haha, Yeah, I also had to unplug the toilet that was stuffed to the roof tops, while pinching my nose. That is hardhsip my friend, hardhip I say, haha. :)

Sorry to burst the bubble, but you do realize this is a deliberate mess! That is, placed on purpose to look like a mess.

Just not sure what about these photos looks deliberately placed. Why would anyone fake this?

This place looks eerily similar to my friends ex-roommates place. She had her room, he had the rest of the entire house and it was easily this disgusting. The trash from his couch where he would lie nightly watching TV was about 3 feet high and overtook the entire living room TV area. Absolutely nauseating. After leaving the house I had to go home and take a shower and I purposely touched nothing. Not even door handles.

I'm going to lean toward the not faked on this one. I think the seemingly organized look is due to the person still having a routine. Look at the stains on rugs and sofas. The cigarette smoke stains on the monitor took a while to accumulate. The ashes on the keyboard are dispersed in the most commonly used keyboard areas. If this were fake it would have taken a lot of time to produce because you'd have to stain and age the place to match the mess to make it look believable.

No, it's not a fake...

It is indeed a mental illness, and it's called "hoarding". It's a form of OCD, and I actually learned a lot about it in a mental illness psych course I took awhile back.

Makes me feel sorry for them, but like someone mentioned, there's plenty of people out there with the illness. Some take it to a higher level than others, but it's there none the less.

I see what you're seeing and I agree it's deliberate but not fake. The person living there still has to position all that stuff around them simply to move around. If this is fake some Photoshop artist has absolutely nothing to do with their time. I checked for patterns that might reveal P.shopping and found nothing. The amount of work it would take to pull this off like this in real life to simply say "look at this" is improbable. Not impossible - just improbable.

You should see the grin on my face. :)

Where did I say that?

My opinion is based on what I know and obviously what you dont.

Still love ya Mike. :)

:)
That's good. I was just having fun with you, as you know. I still disagree though. That and you are offering no proof, just your opinion. If you are going to call it a fake, then prove it.

I'm not against it being fake, I just need more than your word. I've seen places like this so it could very well be real. Unless I'm missing something that you spotted?

Mike

I had another look.

This looks real:

But these 2 I have to question:

APT%20133%20037.jpg

The cigarette butts look like they were dumped from an ashtray. They are not crumpled like you would normally butt them out. So were they tossed on the pile while still lit? If so you would see burn holes in the sides of the butts.
If they were butted out on the chair, they would be bent.

And why are the cups not knocked over? Why would someone who does not care about making a mess, take the care to place the butts around the cups?

I have to think this one was staged.

And this one:

Again, the upright cups on the coffee table and the end table with the unbent butts all in a neat pile. And the empty cicarette packs all piled in one specific area. Looks pretty organized.

Maybe it is a mental condition of some kind as mentioned.
Either that or it is staged. People have strange agendas sometimes.

At any rate, I consulted my in house expert...

Conclusion: < As I see it, yes > .

It's hard to argue with the Magic 8 Ball .

Dude, it's real. Look up "hoarding" and you'll see thousands of similar pictures.

1. The cigarettes probably were dumped from an ashtray. See the spot of ashes on the couch? I'll bet there was an ashtray right there, and when it filled, she would dump them on the table, set the ashtray back on the couch, and begin all over again.

2. It's not just "not caring about making a mess", it's a form of OCD. If the owner of these things were present, and you came in and started throwing stuff away, especially the redundant items that seem to be everywhere, I guarantee they would have a panic attack.

I think everyone in the world can relate to OCD a bit. Every get annoyed when you have to use a different toothpaste brand than you're used to? ever subconsciously counted the number of steps up to a friends apartment? ever pick at a zit until you obviously went too far? Take those minute things, and times them by a thousand, and I'm sure the average person (including myself) still has no idea how powerful the urge's are that make people do these things.

Ryan - that's what I said, 'hoarding' for there is a difference between messy and beyond mess which is living in trash. It's a REAL mental problem and you would be surprised to find this hoarding occurs in middle class homes, this is not a ghetto lifestyle, it's an illness just as you said.
