live video out on GF1

One thing I've been missing very much with my gf1 is the ability to connect an external monitor with the video out cable - *during* recording of a movie. It's possible only in playback mode.

Does anyone know if this is within the scope of this hacking project?

Thanks a lot guys...

Live HDMI out would be great. I really don´t understand how come the neither the GH1 nor the GF1 have this feature when all the Olympus micro 4/3 cameras have it.

actually I'd be happy with just the analog video out. that really sounds like it's just disabled in the firmware, whereas HDMI (some people say) might be too much for the processor to handle... If I had any idea about binary coding I'd join the development effort here, just right now I don't have the time to learn :(

That might make sense, that it would be disabled to ease load on processor.
GH1 stays cool when running while canons get very hot while recording and the canons feature liveview monitoriing via HDMI.

So if by wizardary we were able to enable ,would we also have heat issues...interesting
Time will tell

Ialso wonder how many Hackable cameras were sold before the "fix" was introduced by panasonic

Larry:shocked:
