is there a device that can be connected to the fs7 for live streaming in the field - i.e that doesnt have to be tethered to a laptop but can stream directly from the back of the camera to facebook. Facebook live is very popular now but rather than use the iphone I'd like to shoot with the fs7 with decent audio straight to clients facebook pages.

Teradek makes several units. I use a Vidiu, hdmi input, together with the app which you install on your iphone you can stream to any server, and I think there is a Facebook preset, but if not it is not a big deal to set up. If you don't have an iPhone you can set it up on the Vidiu using the joystick but it is a bit of a pain.
Thanks for the replies the teradeck looks good. I need to be independent of a laptop for field work so pairing this unit with an iPhone is a good option. I wonder if a vlock with dtap can power it ? Also how do you start and stop broadcasts cleanly via the unit? Seems like live is going to be more and more in demand.

You can visit the Teradek site and there is lots of info as well as a manual. You can operate the Vidiu from the unit or via an app on an iPhone or Android device. Start, stop, pause etc. from both. Best of luck. Just remember the bigger the pipe the better the stream, so where ever you go, check the net connection ahead of time. If you are streaming with a USB 4G key, check that too.
