GH3 Live projection on a beamer??

Hi guys,

One of my clients asked me if I can arrange live projection for them on a beamer + screen during their wedding party.

It sounds doable but I don't want to make it too hard on myself and for sure don't want to use the mini-HDMI output of my GH3.
Normally we use GH3's and GH4's for filming, but I might need to rent another camera for this. I don't think running a 20m HDMI cable into my GH3 is the solution but otherwise I wouldn't know where to start :)

So, what would be the best option here? I don't know yet which type of beamer it is but let's assume it has HDMI / VGA inputs.
Also, is there a wireless solution for this? And which camera would be suitable for this?

Last question. I know almost every camera can output a liveview on an external monitor / Television but can it also do that to a beamer? Does it work the same?

Thanks!!

What will be projected? Only one camera? Fixed camera? If you connect one camera and it's mobile, people will be sick looking at the screen. If it's a fixed camera, you should buy or rent a HDMI extender (cat5). Of course, you have to be sure that the projector has HDMI in.

Thanks Doug.

1 camera will be projected. It is on a wedding, so there will be shots from cutting the wedding cake, some dancing people, etc. I want to be able to move around a bit, but at the same time make long steady shots from what's happening.

A HDMI extender is just a box to put in between the HDMI cable from the camera, to the beamer, right? So the signal stays strong over long cables?
The problem is that I don't trust those HDMI inputs on the GH3 / GH4. 1 bump on the cable or camera and the camera loses signal for a while. That can't happen.

Any wireless solution?

The Nyrius ARIES is a cheaper alternative to the Teradek too and is worth looking into if you did want a more budget-friendly wireless HDMI streaming.

Thanks guys for the recommendations. I see that I can rent something here in the neighberhood that should do the job.
But, luckily, my client has decided to book me and cancelled the live projection part. Saves me a lot of hassle. Thanks for the replies. Appreciated!
