My Computer Science faculty puts on a revue every year that runs for 4 nights, and the alumni in San Francsico and London and elsewhere were taking the piss by telling the actors to project because they couldn't hear them on previous nights.
Just over 24 hours before the final night, I decided to stream the show live. The result is here:
http://bit.ly/4tAF7o -- you'll have to sit through a minute or two of audience filling the theatre before the show starts.
The audio is two AKG CK91s up the front centre of the stage. The cameras are 2 XL-H1s up the back and 2 Sony A1Ps on the sides. The video runs through a mixing desk and out into a composite to firewire box, then into my laptop and Adobe Flash Live Media Encoder and via my 3G card into justin.tv's backend (really just flash media server and a flash frontend).
I hired an XL-H1 and a comm loop (AU$620 total), borrowed my lecturer's A1's and used my cameras, wireless card, converter box, mixing desk, tripods and the theatre's mixing desk.
I'm mixing video and controlling audio levels live on a Panasonic WJ-MX50 from 4 feeds from (mostly) first time cameramen and a newcomer director.
It's mostly a proof of concept for me, but it's a funny show (abandon political correctness all ye who watch) that I thought you might all be intrested in that I thought worked pretty well.
