Live Chromakey

How can I do live chromakey with the HVX?

I have Ultra2 but the live input does not seem to work. I want to be able to use virtual sets, and the ability to monitor it live is key.

Just out of curiosity, what recording mode do you have your camera set in?

If you are saying that you can't get the video input from the HVX into your computer (via firewire), it may be b/c you are trying to record in one of the pn modes, which can't be carried over firewire.

I may be misreading your post, but if I'm not:

Go to Menu, Recording Setup (#5), and choose the Record format. It can be anything BUT 720p/24pn or 30pn. You can't carry Native framerates over firewire. Any of the others are fine.

Ok I changed it to 720p/24p
Is there anything else I need to change?

I can only get the video to stream to my PC if the HVX is in VCR/DUB mode. So that limits the resolution to 480
Im able to get only file transfer capabilities when in MCR/PC mode.

Ultra2 is a post-production tool only. It doesn't do live keys.

From the Ultra online manual:
Live Preview is intended only for evaluating the setup before recording clips. Ultra does not support real-time keying output of a live source.
