Live Captureing from HVX200 to FCP... Settings?

Hi All,

I have searched and searched...cannot find the answer.

I edit on Avid-- but the shoot I am going on requires me to shoot (HVX200) and capture the footage into FCP 5.1 at the same time. since I am new to FCP can someone please tell me the exact settings I will need to do this. I will be shooting at 720P.

STEP 1: Turn camera on
STEP 2: Turn computer on
STEP 3:????

My overall goal is to set up the computer next to my HVX and record to a external hard drive connected to my Macbook Pro.

Any help would be great!

open FCP, start a new project
choose an "Easy Setup" that matches your shooting format (DVCProHD 720p at whatever framerate you're using)
set the scratch disk to you external
open the capture window and set it to "non-controllable device"

then press "Capture Now"

Also, the cam cannot be set to any pNative setting because that will not stream out firewire
