Live audio recording for movie

I've got a couple of scenes that take place in a club and a wedding. Should I pre-record the audio and hand that to the DJ for the scene in the club? I'm confused? I just thought what if we wanted to swap the audio for something else during post. I want to show people dancing before the camera pans over to the actors and begin dialogue. Maybe keep it in a certain BPM for timing reference?

2. As far as the wedding scene goes, their will be a live band performing. However, once again should I pre-record this audio? I should mention that their will be 600 guests attending.

Hmm, this is happening at a real event?

Normal practice is to shoot dance/club/party scenes with dialog, but no music. (as it would be impossible to match up the music for cuts in post) The music track is always added later in post once the video and dialog has been cut.

If you can quieten the party music while you shoot your scene (but tell people to keep dancing [this always looks silly, good fun should be had by all]) so that you only record dialog would be good.

About the only other option, is to shoot the ENTIRE SCENE in one take (with multiple cameras) .. re-shooting the whole scene for each take - and then you can only choose one take to use. Very limeting.

Thanks for the info. I plan on shooting multiple cameras at the wedding, even though it's gonna be tough.
