Alright, I'm gonna throw this up. My first time posting my own work here so I'm a little nervous. 1st time really shooting something with my DVX, DVRigPro, etc. 1 cam, edited by my partner, synced (attempted) to previously recorded track. Supposedly he did some very minor MBCC on it. Please criticize away. Be brutal, I know it sucks :embarasse Eh, I don't really think it sucks, I just learned a lot from the mistakes I made. Its a starting point I guess. See for yourselves.

Diekotic at LocoBazooka.

Please try to download it. Only WMV right now (Sorry to all the QT's and MacDaddies!) I don't know how much of a load this server can handle. Thanks everyone!

I think that's very clever! I had a laugh.

It's not that bad. It's just... annoying.

The studio track was too loud. Too obvious as well. I don't prefer the music, but that doesn't matter when judging a shoot. I thought the camera movement went well with the music.

It wasn't so bad.

In fact, it was actually alright. Except you were on the stage, behind them most of the time. Should've had a camera in front of the stage, or something.

Don't be so hard on yourself.

even though the "screaming into microphone and pretending it's singing" turn me off... I thought you did an awesome job with the cinamentography.

Thanks so much guys. LSG, you're right the track is too loud. Especially because the live audio is so much quieter, so people tend to turn up the volume, then get to hear the voice of "Demon-spawn Sean" screaming louder than ever. Sorry if I blew out any eardrums.

About being on-stage with them....The band only had 15 minutes and I only had one camera (Me) so I stayed up on-stage for the song we were cutting it to, to try to get some shots we could closely sync. Then I had to run around the entire back of the stage (for the other 3 songs) and get some front shots and crowd shots to give it that multi-camera look. Of course, the other 3 songs didn't sync at all, we just had to make it work, and I'm pretty impressed with how that came together. It was definitely an experience in shooting under the gun.:) Thanks for watching.

Music is cool...mixing needs work, volume, etc...

Felt more like a documentary than a music video. My opinion only here...a music video tends to tell a story and seeks to elicite an emotional response to the music and perfomers from the viewer. Documentary more or less tells the viewer what happened during a particular time period - it's like moving from one fact to the next instead of leading the viewer on a mind-grabbing journey. So, I'm not sure which you were going for here...find the story in it and then try and tell and show the viewer about it. The pain, the work, the exhausation, anxieties, performance energies, etc...

Just some thoughts! I liked it.

Hey ProfD,
The mixing DEFINITELY needs work:) Thanks for your comments. This was kinda just a freebie for a band that we're doing a fully "produced" video for. I'm kinda glad you thought it looked like a documentary. I wanted it to be somewhere in between. I had my camera, this crazy event going on, and the band playing.....so I just shot the f#&* out of everything. I guess I wanted to cover the event as much as show the band playing. If we had given it more thought, we probably should have committed to one or the other (Music Vid or Doc) Good food for thought for the next one.
