Little League Grabs

Here's some stills from shooting my son in action in Little League last night. Haven't really done much color correction because I just captured it.

Great detail in the colors. This looks really good, and once again the powers of the DVX are revealed.

Nice. Those look amazing.

I bet all the other moms and dads with their sony handycams are jealous of you with that DVX. lol

LOL, yeah...kinda like that. A mom came to me and said, "can you focus in on the individual players with that and do you edit your stuff?"

All of this was shot using a steady bag on my knees while sitting and with the Century Optics 1.6x teleconverter. That's what gave me more options with a narrower depth of field, as well as ND filters.

disjecta,

I’ve studied several of your works (and of others) in the past as a learning exercise and you have great compositions and CC skills. Have you thought about writing a basic CC tutorial based on your approach to the matter including tips & tricks that may help beginners get the sort of look you usually milk out of the DVX? I know you’ve written before on these issues but nothing collective exists yet and I’m having a hard time finding some of your older posts. Please consider it and thank you.

Zenish

Thanks for the compliments and I will eventually get around to doing something in a teaching/tutorial capacity but right now I can barely log onto this board on a daily basis...my family is getting busy and so am I :)

I'm a big fan of your work disjecta and like others have used it extensively to learn more about my DVX and filmmaking. But I just can't seem to get the look that you are acheiving in your grabs/films, they are truly beautiful.

I second Zenish's request for a bit of a tutorial!

Look forward to seeing your next offering.

Haha.... even your home movies look great!!

I too would be very interested if you wrote an article.
