This a test fight scene I shot for an up coming feature ( in the works ) all dvx100 - nothing major - just testing the waters with a few pilot trailers for the director so he can pull in more budget.
At the moment we have 2/3rds of the cast & a basic crew on board so its very early days - but things look likely to get moving in august.
It will be shot on HD although 16mm is also being batted around for the fight sequences.

Unfortunately not sure if the dvx will be used on the feature ( doubt it since HD is the main cam ) but if the budget is tight - who knows

This is a demo fight to work some stuff out - more a rough pilot.
Just thought to post something dvx not looking for any prizes here.
I've seen alot of fight scenes recently so thought I'd contribute my first one - I have a long way to go in this genre - not sure if its my thing but I'll find out as I shoot & edit more .

heyyy... looks great, thats one big dude, I wonder if they call him "little india" I'd definetly check the film out when its done

Here's my 2 cents:

The editing was a bit jumpy and it got confusing where you crossed the line. It's too bad that most of the camera cuts were to a slightly different angle instead of a closeup. The first half is cut better than the second half. Even though it's just a fight scene, you need to create some drama or tension. Remember Rocky....

Overall it looks promising. Good luck.

Thanks for the comments - but this is a total rough cut purely to experiment with an ultimate fight scene & look at the choreography
This is just a one handheld camera job thats been cut this way on purpose to try out different styles.
Im with you on crossing the line but the aim is not rocky here - it will be a comedy thats based on ultimate fighting.
This a first ever attempt at shooting a fight scene but I have to say - that the director as well as other fellow filmmakers have expressed how they like the way its cut so its " oranges & lemons " I tend to do alot of stuff my way in editing so I guess I will get it wrong a few times ( in other peoples eye - can't please everyone right .. )
As long as it brings in the budget & helps shop the script - its done its job ( which it has btw ) so there will be a proper crew shooting this with more experience.
My job was to shoot a rough fight scene & use fast cuts in the edit - everyone was happy.
I think the editing would have gone a different way if the shots were more pro - ie: dolly shots coupled with steadicam shots.

Anyway cheers - will post some new stuff soon

Well - Im not sure the new stuff will be dvx.
If the budget allows it will most definitely be HD next but I'll post anywayz.

not many to remember unix - just cine25 & 1/50 shutter - thats it.
Only had a 2 & a half hours to shoot so - there was no time to fiddle around with white balance etc.
If you mean the quick flick world promo on my site - that was a mixture of a small sony pc120 & the dvx.
I went into london underground thinking I could get away with a few shots - this was not the case - I think about 20% on dvx & 80 % on the sony pc120.
That was more than a year & half back so sorry for the foggy memory - I do remember it was the 1st dvx outing & I was nervous about using it so - it wasn't even in 25p.

this fight secne is 100% dvx tho - cheers for the comments
