Litepanels Gemini 2×1 RGB-WW soft panel

Sweet. I was on a big set the other day and brought the Gemini. All the grip had a good play with it. It was a unanimous thumbs up from them mostly because they were so much lighter than Skypanels.

The Gemini looks like a great fixture! I'm not in the market as my Softpanel 2x3 has been doing great where I would use the Gemini but those RGB features with good TLCI is something that is very tempting. It used to seem to be a tradeoff of RGB vs quality of light but I'm very impressed with what I've seen on the Gemini.

Ok in one of videos comments Bgundu mentioned that Anton Bauer was working on it.

You also have to consider that you probably could not fly with a battery large enough to power the Gemini, so you would have to rent a power solution at each location you are flying to.

I'm not sure many people would be flying with the Gemini?

Something like 4 v mount batteries would be doable, from a usability standpoint. Just like a ballast but without needing house power.

Dewalt makes 20/60 volt batteries. 2 batteries power table saws , chop saws, etc. and they are reasonably priced. Don't know why a reasonably priced battery option couldn't be crafted.

^ Darn you, Travis - stop making it so appealing. (now back to my mantra ... I do not need another light...I do not need another light....)

Haha, I know the feeling! Well if you change your mind, this is prob the best deal you'll find all year :)

I received my Gemini from the group buy on Thursday and of course, promptly broke it out and started playing with it. So far, overall, I like it. But I do have an issue and I want to see if anyone else is experiencing this or if I need to send it back. The LEFT encoder knob is "jumpy" when making adjustments. Say you're scrolling through trying to dial in a specific hue in HSi mode and while turing it to the right, it will jump and start going back down(as if it were being turned to the left), then start going back to the right again. And it does this in the opposite direction, as well. It also jumps forward(or backwards depending on direction turned) several units, even when turning it very slowly(I know they are speed sensitive). It does it in all "modes". The CENTER and RIGHT encoder knobs appear to operate correctly. The light is not unusable, by any means, but it's very annoying, especially in GEL mode, where you can "skip" over a lot of gels and not even realize it.

Just wanted to see if this is something that others were experiencing or a known issue, before I contact Adorama on Monday(they are the ones who actually contacted me to handle the transaction). I haven't registered the light yet, and if this is an issue specific to my copy of the light, I will just ask them to swap it for another unit. I don't play warranty games when something comes out of the box with an issue on day one.

*EDIT*. I am running the latest firmware version. It exhibited the issue on both the original shipping firmware(without the new effects modes) and the newest version(with the new effects modes) that I loaded Thursday evening.

The unit I had from Vitec from review didn't do this. I would exchange it, sounds like you may have a wonky potentiameter there. Overall, I really dug this light, incredibly flexible and versatile.
