Lint inside stock lens

It appears that there is a piece of lint on the inside of my dvxA stock lens. When I hook my camera up to a tv, i see an out of focus string like piece of lint on the botton right hand corner of the screen. I called Panasonic to see how much it would cost to send it in to be cleaned, and they said it would cost around $100. I'm wondering if I should do this or try and open up the lens myself to clean it? Would the latter option be too risky?

If it's really visible, I'd spring for the 100$ and get it fixed. I'm pretty sure it voids any warranty you might have if you open it, and you run a high risk of getting even more junk inside your lens than you started with.
