line level to camera via wireless?

Is it possible to send a "line level" signal via a wireless setup.

ie Audio playback (line signal output) to camera (switched to line signal input from wireless receiver).

I will run a test when I get near the playback device (small mixing desk) but thought I would ask first.

Depends on the wireless system.

Most lower-end receivers (AT, Sony UWP, Sennheiser G2) have mic-level output. But higher-end like Lectrosonics will feature line-level out.

And most, if not all, of those systems (even the Lectros that I've worked with, which is pretty much only the old CR185 :D ) are also a mic-level input. (Some are switchable to accept a guitar input, which is hotter than mic level but not, IIRC, quite as hot as the full-on line level like you'd get out of a typical "small mixing desk.")

The ATW-1800 has switchable mic-level and line-level inputs. You'll need to get an XLR-to-transmitter cable, which is fairly inexpensive.

Sony UWP systems also support switchable mic/line input

Sorry, you are not asking about inputs ...

Senn G2 reciver has adjustable ouput level, at the highest setting it is line...

At least that is the way I remember using it.

Actually I probably am asking about inputs.

If I can input line level signal and transmit it to the receiver(on board camera) . My idea will work.

I have a Sony UWP system (or could rent anything else).
